Issue 19 of the Scottish literary magazine Northwords Now appeared today and I'm happy to say that editor Chris Powici has included four of my efforts: THE VISITOR, DREAMLANDS, THE HOARD and AFTER THE READINGS. (Online version of magazine at www.northwordsnow.co.uk.)
The events in AFTER THE READINGS did actually happen. It was after a Poetry Association of Scotland event at the Netherbow and I was having a drink in the Waverley Bar with half a dozen people, including Stewart Conn and Gerry Cambridge. The vociferous critic did butt in - she also volunteered to read us some verses she'd written about her budgie.
It's true what they say: wherever you are in the UK you're never more than ten feet away from a poem.
