Mamma Mia

I was interested to hear that Gullane Community Hall is now showing films at the weekend. I was less interested to hear that the next film coming our way is Mamma Mia, set, as you'll all know, on a Greek island with an Abba soundtrack. (It made sense to somebody, I suppose.) I love Greece and admire Abba, but this film I cannot take (I've seen the DVD). And after all the fun of my Greek night in North Berwick (see Hellenic Hell) I am less than enthused when told that the forthcoming screening of Mamma Mia will be followed by dancing and singing in the Community Hall. I'll remain at home, quietly nursing a kebab, and sipping retsina.
