In 1991 I answered a classified advertisement in The Scotsman. This led to a part-time job at Edinburgh's Country Kitchen restaurant: not cooking or serving but writing the autobiography of the owner, Howard Denton (born Hyman Zoltie). The hardback book was published by the Ramsay Head Press and became a popular BBC Radio Scotland series. There is much in it about Edinburgh from the 1920s until the 1970s, and insights into the life of Jewish immigrants from Russia-dominated Poland.
I have copies of the hardback available for the reduced price of £9.99.
