I recently revisited a British hit record I'd enjoyed in 1967. Exploring the music you loved decades ago can sometimes be a disillusioning experience. However, I wasn't disappointed. Apart from sounding rather wonderful, the song contains this timeless couplet:
The trainer of insects is crouched on his knees
and frantically looking for runaway fleas.

I loved this song when it came out - I was 12 and thought it was very mysterious and profound. Nearly as good a lyric as 'Yummy, Yummy Yummy, I've got love in my tummy'. Ian McDonough
